Chanel (57) Mystique Rouge Coco Lipstick is part of Chanel’s Superstition Fall 2013 Collection, which is permanent and new this Fall. I did review Le Blush Creme de Chanel in Presage last week and I’ve been obsessed and wore it daily since then. I don’t usually purchase luxury brand makeup but as what my husband has said: ” You get what you paid for!’ The Le Blush Creme de Chanel in Presage has defied my perspective on creme blushes. So I purchased some products from the collection that will compliment my warm medium deep skin: a cream blush, a coco rouge lipstick and a rouge coco shine, Chanel Esprit (88), which I will be posting my review within the next few days.
Chanel (57) Mystique Rouge Coco Lipstick is described as an Apricot shade but it appears as a warm, muted rosy pink coral on my lips. It’s like a “My lips but better” on my warm medium deep skin after I’ve applied it over my slightly pigmented lips. I have to build this up on my lips, about 3 swipes, to show its color since this is a slightly sheer formulation not fully opaque. It’s a great color for a smokey eye paired with a coral blush or just simply for an everyday wear. It averages for 4 hours of wear and did not left a stain on my lips. It is very hydrating but the creamy consistency is not too loose that it will tend to migrate into the outline of my lips. It is non-drying throughout the duration of its wear.
This deserves an A at first but if I pressed my lips together it will leave a fine line on my lips. When I got home after 5 hours of wearing it, a little bit of the product filled into the cracks of my lips. I also didn’t notice any scent in it. It’s staying power is just about average but I adore how hydrating and non-drying the formulation is. This is meant to give you a slightly sheer end result, so if you are expecting for it to be fully opaque, you might get disappointed.
Have you tried any from the Chanel Fall 2013 Superstition Collection?
