The Riri Hearts Mac Fall 2013 Collection only means 2 things: once you go matte, you can never go back and a rosy copper satin blush is definitely a girl’s best friend!
This is the second installment of The Riri Hearts Mac Collection this year. There’s another one coming up for the holidays and one that we just had way back in June for the Summer Collection. Now I completely understand why a lot of makeup junkies went “#Cray” ‘coz I myself went ballistic for 3 days: stalking the Mac’s and Nordstrom’s websites and reading thru threads on Specktra for the latest updates plus being sleep-deprived on all those days.
Riri Hearts Mac Talk that Talk Lipstick is described as a matte dark plum. It appears as a deep burgundy red on my lips. It lasted for freaking 9 hours on me! It also left a significant amount of stain which lingers within the next 2 hours. It got a barely unnoticeable transfer. It is non-hydrating and slightly drying. It starts to get drying on the 6th hour of wear. It’s not as badly dry as I thought it would be. It’s stiff to apply, which is true to all retro matte lipsticks. It is also a tad bit patchy during its application straight from the tube. It’s best applied over a lip liner and with a lip brush for precision. It also will look best on prepped lips with gentle exfoliation and apply a lip balm 30 minutes prior to application. I love how Talk that Talk turns out on my lips, it is a great lipstick to wear daily this fall. The swatches below were taken at 2 different angles.
Riri Hearts Mac Bad Girl Gone Good Blush is described as a warm copper with a satin finish. It appears on my warm and medium deep skin as a muted rosy copper blush with a satin finish. It adds warmth with a subtle flush on my cheeks. It lasted for 8.5 hours on me. It’s the type of blush that is not too powdery nor an over-the-top pink. This has been my “go-to” everyday blush as it simply compliments my skin color. I can either wear bold eyes with nude lips and vice versa without it being too washed out or an ‘in-your-face’ blusher. I got dry skin which is worst during the winter months and this is that kind of blush that is not a greasy cream nor a flaky powder type. I wore this blush on 3 different looks and 2 different swatch angles below.
The Bottom Line:
I’m very happy with my purchase, although I have to go through a bunch of hoops just to get these products. I have to be on the waitlist for almost an hour before I can even order. And most of the products were already sold out. I even have to beg my husband to stalk the counters in the mall for some updates on when will these be available in stores (if I missed out online). I also purchased, Riri Hearts Mac Nude Lipstick (Thank You Nordstrom’s), which I will be reviewing pretty soon. It was already sold out (the first to sell out for the lipsticks!) when I was able to get into the site. As of this writing, I am currently waiting for the UPS Dude, to drop-off this bundle of joy on my doorstep today Yay! I can’t wait for the Riri Hearts Mac Holiday Collection in the next couple months. There’s no official color story yet as of the moment. I followed Rihanna on Instagram, looks like her recent posts are clues for the next collection.
Were you like me, who got all “hyped” up from this Collection?
