For today’s post, I feature one of the lipsticks from the Dior Holiday 2013 Golden Winter Makeup Collection, Dior Diorific Minuit Lipstick. It’s actually my first Dior lipstick. The Collection are limited edition makeup and some products however, are region-specific. Not all of the makeup from the collection will be available in your area. So it’s better to check your online Dior and your local counters for availability. To read my review for Dior 5 Couleurs Golden Snow Eyeshadow, go here.
Dior Diorific Minuit Lipstick is described as a sparkling cool red. It flaunts as a medium dark raspberry red with golden pink shimmer and cool undertones on my pigmented lips. It got a satin finish. It is a non-drying and moderately hydrating lipstick formula. It lasted for 5 hours of wear on me. It got a creamy consistency that just glides across your lips when applied straight from the tube without pulling or tugging. Since it got a creamy formula, it got transfer, so this is not kiss-proof. It feels a little gritty because of the microglitter. The glitter even stayed after the pigment was gone. Even though it’s creamy, it did not fill into the cracks of my lips which is a great thing.
The Bottom Line:
The only downside I can think of this lipstick is the scent. It can be very overwhelming to some people. I prefer my lipstick to have very subtle scents. I do love how Dior has incorporated some sparkle in it, to make the product more festive. According to the company’s claims, Dior Diorific lipsticks are suppose to be long-lasting yet gives hydration to your lips. The drawback for hydrating lipsticks is that they are very creamy and may tend to bleed or have transfer. I just wanted to drink my cup or glass without any lipstick mark. I do love wearing something that hydrates during the cold dry months for the holidays to come.
