I survived the blizzard yesterday, Yippee!  I was able to get to work safely last night, amidst seeing the horror of cars and trucks topsy-turvy by the median of I-80.  Wow! What a day!  But wait… there’s more!  I am still in a good mood and very much motivated to work because I’m excited to wear and review Chanel (46) La Malicieuse Rouge Allure Velvet from the Chanel Variation Spring 2014 Collection.

Chanel (46) La Malicieuse Rouge Allure Velvet is described as a bright red with blue undertones.  On me, it appears as a pinkish coral with neutral undertones with a semi-matte finish.  It’s suppose to be a bright red, but due to my medium dark with warm undertones complexion, it leans more coral than red.  It lasted for a whooping 8.5 hours of wear on me and then it starts to fade that left a coral stain which lingers for the next 3 hours.  The formula is awesome!  It is never drying and is moderately hydrating perfect for a bitter dry weather.  It is intensely pigmented that single layer, I was able to reach its full opacity even with my pigmented lips.  It was never patchy nor flaky throughout the course of its wear.  It got a creamy matte formula that you don’t have to worry if it bleeds or feather.  Let me also note, that it is freaking lightweight and almost comparable to a second skin.  This does have a little bit of transfer, so it is not considered “kiss-proof”, but almost.

The Bottom Line:

I am such a fan of the new formula of the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvets.  Every time there is a new collection out, I’ll make sure to pick at least one.  I am currently building a collection for it.  The same thing goes with Chanel Le Blush Creme.  These two always gives a high return of investment, so definitely worth collecting.  Plus, I adore the packaging of the lipsticks which makes a lipstick junkie’s life so much easy.  You just push the button and there pops out a gorgeous product, which never fails to make me smile.
