Wearing Mac Sin, a dark vampy shade of red, this Fall is never a sin. For the love of the longevity and the pigment of matte lipsticks and not worrying about smearing it all over my teeth, I picked up a vampy lipstick from Mac Cosmetics in retrospect. It has been on the market for quite sometime yet definitely a must-have lipstick this Fall.
Mac Sin is described as a deep dark blue red in matte finish. It appears as a dark maroon red with a matte finish. It is leaning towards a retro matte finish because it’s “matte-er” than the usual Mac mattes but not as drying. It is a non-drying and a non-hydrating formula. It does tug a little bit when applied across my lips. It lasted for an average of 7 hours of wear and started to become patchy after the 7th hour. It is very pigmented with just one swipe from the tube. It does left a stain within the next 4 hours or so.
The Bottom Line:
I picked up Mac Sin instead of Mac Diva because it is darker and leans more maroon. I love how vampy it looks, a perfect lipstick for this time of the year. It is very comfortable to wear without being too drying and doesn’t make my lip chappy throughout the course of its wear. I love how classy it looks in addition to being vampy. Below are comparison swatches with similar lipsticks I’ve got: Mac Talk that Talk is slightly darker and retro matte finish, Mac Fixed on Drama is very similar but retro matte and Mac Viva Glam 1 is redder.
