Yesterday, I just turned 29, which means next year I’ll be 30. They say for girls these days, “Life begins at 30!” For my birthday this year, why not go edgy and vampy? Since I’m reviewing Mac Cyber lipstick, which is part of the Rick Baker Collection for Halloween 2013, I have decided to wear blackened purple lips with chartreuse eyes. This look marks the last year of being on my 20’s.
Mac Cyber Lipstick is described as an intense blackish-purple with a satin finish. It appears as a semi-matte blackened purple on my lips. It lasted for an average of 4.5 hours of wear on me. It is non-drying and moderately hydrating lipstick formula. It is non-patchy throughout the course of its wear which is an exceptional feature for a deep darkened lip shade. It is very opaque that with a single swipe, it will give you a deep dark purple shade and after building up for 2-3 swipes, it appears as a blackened purple. It applies smoothly without even pulling or tugging. It does have minimal transfer because it is not a purely matte lipstick. It did not left any stain on my lips.
The Bottom Line:
It’s a great vampy shade this fall for the brave and the bold. You can either wear it thinly or built up, depending on how bold of a shade you can handle. When compared with Mac Smoked Purple lipstick, Mac Cyber is slightly darker with a satin finish and the latter is a matte finish. Overall, it is a great $15 lipstick. It offers better hydration and excellent pigmentation without being patchy. However, not everyone will dare to wear this shade. But if you are adventurous and want to wear something different this season, why won’t you give it a try. Don’t worry it’s just makeup, you can definitely erase it.
