Chanel, like most makeup brands, just increased a tad bit of their product prices starting with the Spring Collections. It is unexpected but not pretty unusual. As I am writing this post, I am still sick with seasonal allergies in addition to the common colds. But nothing can stop me to write this post because I just can’t wait for Spring. We just changed our clocks yesterday into Daylight Savings, which is up to this day I still can’t fathom the logic behind it. It’s nothing but plain absurdity. Another great thing to discover, are robins on our bird feeders. With 60F of temperature high today, Spring is definitely around the corner. I hope it won’t be the same as last year’s, when it snowed on May 2nd.
Chanel (43) La Favorite Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick is described as a orange coral which is also a part of Chanel Collection Variation for Spring 2014. On me, it leans more towards a neutral coral than orange. Let me rephrase: it appears as a “true coral” with a satin finish. The pigment is moderately opaque over my already pigmented lips. I have to apply, at least a couple layers, for it to be fully opaque. It lasted for an average of 6.5 hours of wear on me. It is non drying and a moderately hydrating formula. It got a minimal transfer so definitely not “kiss-proof.” It is very lightweight, very comfortable to wear and doesn’t fill into the cracks of my lips.
The Bottom Line:
It’s a very beautiful color for Spring. Actually, this shade is a re-promote from last year’s Chanel Spring 2013 Collection. I love these reformulated Chanel Rouge Allure Velvets. I am starting to build a collection for it. It’s a shade of coral that is just so wearable yet never too bold to be intimidating. It’s a perfect shade of Coral this spring.
