When Urban Decay decided to discontinue this shade, I was able to pick up this at the website’s clearance bin. I purchased this way back in the fall of last year. The package was still in the form of an old graffiti art which is unique to the eyeshadow shade. Now Urban Decay decided to make all the packaging of its eyeshadows uniform. Though I still prefer the old way since they make a distinction between a particular shade and it’s easy to identify it in your stash. With this new packaging, I have to tip my eyeshadows upside down so that the labels will show on top. This shade is a must have especially for those who love to wear warm to neutral eyeshadows. As of this writing this is not available permanently on Urban Decay‘s website, but they re launched this couple of months ago with a newer packaging. You can check out Ulta or Sephora if they are still in stock.
Urban Decay Honey Eyeshadow is characterized as a glistening gold. On me, it appears as a warm frosted gold with brown undertones. It lasted for 10.5 hours of wear time on me. I did not even notice any fall outs and it’s easy to blend. The texture is really fine and the powder just glides into your brush like butter. It’s a very versatile color, you can either wear this as an eyeliner, main lid or an accent color.
The Bottom Line:
On the look I’ve created below, I’ve used this shade as a main lid color with Urban Decay Stash on the outer V and TheBalm Matt Garcia on the crease. It will also serve as an effective gold winged eyeliner with a damp angled small dense eyeliner brush. If you are adventurous, you can also wear this over your eyebrows for a golden metallic brows this summer. Another suggestion is to apply this over clear or colored lip glosses at the inner center of your lips for an ombre metallic lips. The great thing with a fiery gold shade, there are a lot of things you can do with it. Either wearing it bold or toned down.
