Laura Mercier highlighters and bronzers are on my radar lately. I’ve overlook the brand’s line of cheek products until the recent releases this Spring. I like the Laura Mercier Radiance Primer. I have been using that for quite some time. After the eye-opening experience I had with Laura Mercier Indiscretion highlighter, without any hesitations I bought Laura Mercier Baked Blush Bronze in Ritual. It costs cheaper than the Laura Mercier Indiscretion highlighter at almost the same product weight. It’s a bronzer for the bronzed! I like that this appears more burnt mauve than the hideous orange. I am very careful with my bronzers. My undertones have the tendency to make them look too orange or ashy.
Laura Mercier Baked Blush Bronze in Ritual is characterized as a warm bronze with a light pink shimmer. On my skin, it appears as a warm rosy mauve copper with a satin finish and a little shimmer. Since this is baked, the pinkish veining differs from pan to pan. According to my makeup buddy V, who also got the product and the one who recommends this to me, I got more veining than hers. What I least liked about baked makeup, it got the tendency to crumble when you use a brush with natural bristles. This is reduced when you used a synthetic one. The texture is a little bit dry. The pigmentation is remarkable. Apply with a gentle hand even on brown skin since it is very intense. If you are fair or even a medium, it’s best to apply with a fan brush to have better control of the pigment. It went on for almost 9.5 hours of wear on me.
The Bottom Line:
Baked makeup is making a comeback lately. The nice thing with Laura Mercier Baked Blush Bronze in Ritual, the shimmer is very subtle that even dry patches on your face won’t get noticed. It’s definitely the year for highlighters. However, blush bronzers are slowly getting their momentum. No fears on looking orange or dirty gray with the Laura Mercier Baked Blush Bronze in Ritual. Side by side comparison swatches includes: Chanel Cheeky and Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow in N02. For my look, I used Urban Decay’s Vice LTD palette on my lids, Becca Rose Gold as highlight and ColourPop Tootsi on my lips.
