I hope you are all doing well today. Since I’ve started my new job this week, there has been some missed posts this week as I am trying to figure out the days when to publish the blog and engage on social media. Urban Decay is my go to brand when it comes to eyeshadows and eye liners. They always have a wider selection of colors and the formula are awesome. I find it consistently good in formula when they are in singles than as a part of a palette. Although you save a lot in getting the palette, but you are only getting half high performing shades as compared to buying them in singles. You either have pigmentation issues or worst they’re painstakingly dry which makes it harder to blend. As part of the newer shades from the brand, I got Urban Decay Fireball and Beware eyeshadows. They are priced at $18/0.05 oz. pan and got the buttery texture that the brand has been well-known for.
Urban Decay Cosmetics Fireball Eyeshadow is characterized as a peach with a pink shift. It appears on my skin as a bright magenta with peach undertones and a luminous sheen. It lasted for 9 hours of wear on me. I wore this on my lids, waterline and can also be used as a highlighting blush. The texture is finely milled, buttery and never dry. It is very opaque that I only needed a single layer to reach full opacity on my lids. It’s a duochrome shade which may appear either magenta or peach pink depending on the angle where the light hits. This is a unique shade, worth collecting and the only shade from the new shades from the Urban Decay Summer 2015 collection.
Urban Decay Cosmetics Beware Eyeshadow is described as a warm brown and a matte finish. It appears on my skin as a neutral muted chocolate brown. I use this mainly as my crease color. I need a dependable matte crease color that is a dark brown but doesn’t have any hint of plum undertones. I find this as an ongoing issue with warm dark brown shades which appears plum on my skin. A perfect example for that is Urban Decay Tease eyeshadow. It’s a new addition to my makeup staples that I’ve always use everyday. The texture is finely milled and also never dry which is sometimes an issue with matte eyeshadows. It lasted for 10 hours of wear on my lids. I like that this appears as neutral on my skin which can complement really well on most shades.
The Bottom Line:
Urban Decay Cosmetics Fireball and Beware Eyeshadow are both new additions for Summer 2015 and are must haves for every woman of color. I find Urban Decay eyeshadows high quality which also reflects in their high end price. I don’t own a lot of single eyeshadows from Urban Decay because I find them very expensive. I sometimes wait for end of season or clearance sales. However, I own several eyeshadow palettes from the brand. What I really like with the eyeshadow colors from Urban Decay is that they are very unique and edgy. Same goes with their eye liners too! Their eye liners doesn’t irritate my eyes or make them watery. I am also not a fan of their Moondust eyeshadows. The fall outs are unbearable and the pigment are just agonizing. How many Urban Decay eyeshadow singles you currently own?
