Hello netizens of the world! I just purchased my most expensive to date from Christian Louboutin. Yes people! The lipsticks cost $90 a piece. It does have a hoop or ring on top of the tube which implies that you can use it as a key chain or if you are really that fanatic wear it as a pendant. If not for my free gift cards from “The Hubster” I’m never going to spend my $90 for a lipstick. Never say, never. I might just see myself starting to grow my collection on these expensive pups! Today’s post are nothing new on the market but are very new to me. I’ve been thinking of getting Stila Patina for months but either they are out of stock or I spend my money on something else. OCC Lydia, however, is a repackaged version of the good ‘ol lip tars. OCC were the first to launch liquid lipsticks on the market but failed short on thoughts of convenience during product application.
Stila Patina Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick is described as a dusty rose. On me, it appears as a warm muted beige pink with a matte finish. It lasted for almost 7 hours of wear on me. It is a non drying, non hydrating formula that is very comfortable to wear. It’s a creamier matte liquid lipstick formula which is very much comparable to the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick but even better. The doe foot applicator is something that is uniquely commendable about this product because it bends as your sweep through your lips for better application. It is very opaque that a single dip from the tube is more than enough to cover my entire lips. It never turns patchy or streaky throughout the course of its wear. It smells so heavenly like a vanilla cake batter.
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lydia RTW Liquid Lipstick is characterized as a darkroom plum. It appears on my lips as a cool toned muted fuchsia with slight mauve undertones and a semi-matte finish. It lasted for 6.5 hours of wear and left a pinkish stain on my lips within the next 2 hours. It is a non drying, slightly hydrating formula. My issue with this one is it has the tendency of bleeding when you over applied the product. The pigment is intense and like Stila Patina, a single dip is all you need. The doe foot applicator has the tendency to pick up more than what you need so I just smear it off the rim to remove extra product. The hemp oil made the product feel moisturizing but I am not a fan of the peppermint smell and the tingling sensation it brings. Maybe I just got spoiled with the vanilla or cake batter scent of similar products on the market. It feels tacky when you over apply it or if the product is still wet.
The Bottom Line:
Now I understood further why Stila Patina sells out like a maniac. The formula is insane and the overall performance is unmatchable. This is going to be one of my “hall of famers” highly recommended liquid lipstick of this shade. OCC Lydia RTW Liquid Lipstick is only $3 cheaper at 4ml versus the 10 ml full sized one. You don’t have to get this if you’ve already owned the squeeze tube ones. You can repackage your old lip tars and convert them into RTWs if you have plenty of time. The only difference I’ve observed with the new RTW liquid lipsticks as compared with the lip tars, they are less saturated and more hydrating. If you prefer the drier matte kind, this is an easy skip. If you also preferred creamier mattes, get the Stila Patina instead. Are you thinking of getting the new OCC RTW liquid lipsticks?
