Hello fellow makeup netizen freaks! Same as with previous post, writing this in a quickie at the Airport while waiting for my flight back to Des Moines. I feel very much inspired writing a blog post in this kind of environment while busy nitpicking and be EXTRA observant in people’s behavior. Some are more obnoxious than others while a majority are lost on their phone’s interwebs. Christian Louboutin Rococotte is my second and probably my last (note to self) screaming with luxury lipstick. It’s $90 bucks Yo! If not for gift cards, I’m not going to buy these. Yes, they look very pretty and does perform really well, but for $90? Seriously?! Personally, a couple ones are worth for keeps but definitely not going to start building a collection. I end up resuscitating our household’s bank account.
Christian Louboutin Rococotte Velvet Matte Lip Color appears as a medium rose with slight coral undertones and a matte finish. It’s a velvet matte finish that is almost semi matte with slight hydration. I like how lightweight and the comfort it brings to my lips. For a smoother application, don’t forget to scrub your lips. You may skip the lip balm phase since this is a slightly hydrating product. It lasted for almost 5 hours of wear without being patchy or signs of crumbling. The packaging is very luxurious and it’s a real metal not just metal plated. It even rang me during my TSA X-ray screen at the airport. It’s even embarrassing that I need to pull it off my bag and explain to the agent that it is a lipstick. The product does look a sex toy though with the lace string attached to a product shaped like this. It is moderately opaque and requires at least 2 layers to show up over my pigmented lips.
The Bottom Line:
Alright folks, this is going to be my last haul for this line. But if I get gift cards and there’s no collection out that I look forward to, money goes to another Christian Louboutin Velvet Matte Lip Color. I’ve been asked by Instagram followers and friends if it is really worth to get these lipsticks. If you have $90 laying in your house or you have extra $90 per pay check go ahead and get them. But if money is tight, you can always add this to your birthday or Christmas wish lists and ask for gift cards. Works for family members who doesn’t have any idea on what to give you. The packaging is hands down unique and worth collecting but the lipstick is not very unique that its quality is very comparable to Charlotte Tilbury mattes or Chanel lip velvets. Christian Louboutin Rococotte is a very pretty rose coral especially on brown skin. I will update this post with dupes for all my cruelty free blog followers. (UPDATE: Check out the dupes below!) Until next time…
