Hi everyone! How’s it going on your neck of the woods? Today, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the new Chanel Holiday 2015 Signe Particulier eyeshadow quad plus LA Splash Cosmetics Guadalupe Lip Lustre. By the way, use my promo code AFFILIATE-NWMICA for a 10% off of your LA Splash Cosmetics order. How fun is that. The new holiday 2015 quad from Chanel is something new for me since I missed the previous releases from 2-3 years ago. I have issues with one out of the 4 in terms of dryness and 3 out of 4 for its pigment. Also, the new LA Splash Cosmetics Halloween 2015 lipsticks are all metallic and they look so uniquely gorgeous on my lips. Since these are the “drier” matte formula, they are very unforgiving to my lips especially when worn during the winter.
Chanel Holiday 2015 Signe Particulier Eyeshadow quad is new and limited edition described as a satin beige pink, velvet purple, black red and saffron gold. On my skin, it appears as a cool satin beige with peach undertones, cool satin gray with slight purple undertones, warm satin blackened magenta and a warm shimmery burnished yellow gold. All 4 shades lasted for almost 8 hours of wear without a primer on my dry lids. I have issued with the pigment to show up on my brown skin on all 3 shades except for the darkest one. The top right shade, which the press release was supposed to be a velvet purple, but any hint of purple got absorbed by my skin. The latter is also the driest shade out of the four, where I have issues of crumbling when I sweep my brush across the pan and fall outs after application. My favorite shade is the lower right, shimmery gold, which is a stand out shade after application and surprisingly, I didn’t notice any fall outs uncommon for a shimmery shade. The best performing out of the four is the lower left, blackened magenta shade, which is given since it is the darkest shade but also didn’t have any fall outs uncommon for a shade such as this. The least pigmented shades are the top ones while all four are so easy to blend when using either a shader or a blending brush.
LA Splash Cosmetics Guadalupe Studio Shine Lip Lustre appears as a warm metallic orange gold which has strong magenta undertones. It lasted for over 10 hours of wear and still remained intact when I got home to take off my makeup. It is non drying during the first 3 hours and starts to feel really drying after 4 hours. You may apply a lip balm throughout the day to make it feel comfortable. Ultra matte metallic lipsticks are not for everyone and are best worn when the humidity is higher. It is very pigmented that a single dip is enough to cover my entire lips. This is also a very pretty eyeliner to create a golden “cat eye” on fleek.
The Bottom Line:
I’ve created 2 different looks using the Chanel Signe Particulier quad below and one with Kat Von D Lolita II lipstick while the other is with LA Splash Guadalupe. Chanel Signe Particulier will be a great purchase if you prefer earth tone shades that are wearable every day, in almost all seasons. But this quad may disappoint you if you are into pigmented eyeshadows like the pressed pigments kind. LA Splash Guadalupe is not for every one. There is a huge following for fans of metallic lips and ultra matte lipsticks. Ultra Matte lipsticks takes a lot of time taking care of it throughout the day. Until next time…
