Hey everyone! How’s everything going in your side of the world? I received the 2 new Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks in Androgyny and Doll Parts are birthday presents from my family. I stopped purchasing from the brand after I was blocked on Instagram after I’ve reviewed Jeffree Star Celebrity Skin. Like another indie makeup brand, there’s just a lot of drama going on with the owner. I’ve always enjoyed wearing makeup and will continue to support a company if I believe in their product. But being caught up with the drama is the last thing I wanna associate with. Makeup blogging is just a hobby, not my profession. Lately, I haven’t heard any new drama from the owner or the brand itself. Maybe there has been a lot of growing up and maturity happening from that camp. Anyways, let’s divert our attention from the social media drama and talk about the 2 new lipsticks from the brand.
Jeffree Star Androgyny Velour Liquid Lipstick is characterized as a “sultry, plum mauve, matte and extremely addicting.” It appears as a warm deep mauve with strong plum undertones. It lasted for almost 6 hours of wear and left a faint dark mauve stain which lasted for an extra hour. It is a non drying, non hydrating formula. I didn’t experience any issues of flaking or being patchy. It is extremely pigmented that a single dip takes care of your entire lip coverage. The doe foot applicator makes it super easy to apply and was able to pick up enough product for a full lip coverage. One of the best mauves I’ve tried and worth keeping.
Jeffree Star Doll Parts Velour Liquid Lipstick is described as a “soft cool toned pink.” It appears as a neutral pink with fuchsia undertones. It lasted for 6.5 hours of wear and left a fuchsia stain which lasted for an extra 2 hours. It is a non drying, non hydrating formula. I also didn’t experience any issues of flaking or being patchy. Bright pinks and fuchsias have a tendency to become patchy after 4 hours of wear. Jeffree Star Doll Parts never disappoints. The doe foot applicator makes it super easy to apply and was able to pick up enough product for a full lip coverage. For bright pink fans out there, include this in your shopping list.
The Bottom Line:
Jeffree Star Androgyny and Doll Parts Velour Liquid Lipsticks are currently out of the stock as of this writing. But don’t worry since they will be restocked sometimes in January or February next year. You can also purchase them over at eBay but be prepared of the whooping prices. These are unscented lipsticks which may be a pro or a con to some. The formula of Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks are more creamy than Lime Crime’s Velvetines but more fluid than Dose of Colors. Since I have been acquiring several liquid lipsticks lately, it took me a few seconds to realize and get used to using a regular lipstick on a stick. It sounds weird but I know if you’re fans of liquid lipsticks, you can definitely relate on this. Until next time folks…
