Hey everyone! Sorry it took me so long to update the blog and post reviews. It may sound like a broken record but I’ve been very busy with work and my personal life. Well, it’s better to be busy with work than be busy sucking air. Haha. Corny hits! Anyways, let me share my experience using the revamped Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold highlighter and the Nars x Steven Klein collab. I only picked the Nars Stud eyeshadow and the Nars Vengeful dual intensity blush from the collab. I skipped the others since they are either “dupable” or nothing unique. But all 3 of these are very festive and can also be worn all year long.
Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold Skin Gilding highlighter is a limited edition for the holidays which was also released in the past holiday collection but not as shimmery, more of a subtle all over face powder. It appears on my skin as a shimmery neutral beige gold. It lasted for 8 hours of wear on me. It can be built if you wanted more shimmer. I just sweep thrice from the pan for the right amount of shimmer on my brown skin. It is a finely milled texture and excellent pigment. I didn’t own the prior released version, so I can’t compare this one from that. However, the packaging is an epic fail. It’s a carton with magnetic snaps wrapped in foil. Maybe the company is trying to keep the price under $50, so the packaging was sacrificed. But you can depot this and place this in your Z palette to make it more travel friendly.
Nars x Steven Klein Vengeful Dual Intensity blush comprises of a highlighter and blush. The highlighter is cool toned shimmery golden champagne while the blush is a warm deep brick terracotta with a matte finish. Both lasted almost at the same time of 8 hours with the blush lasting for an extra hour. The highlighter feels slightly dry in texture while the blush is even better. Since these two are intense, either work with a light hand or swipe lightly across the pan. One of the best thing of this duo is that you get contour and highlight in a single pan. It is travel friendly and the packaging is very durable. A nice blush-highlighter duo for women of color.
Nars x Steven Klein Stud eyeshadow is characterized a soft pewter bronze. It appears as a shimmery beige with silver undertones. It lasted for almost 7.5 hours of wear on me. It is slightly dry and does have a little fall out due to the shimmer in it. I end up tapping my brush before I apply it to limit the fall outs. The texture is also finely milled with excellent pigmentation. I swipe my brush twice to make up the single layer on my lids. I don’t have to apply a second layer since my skin color never absorbs the color. For my look below, I use Nars Stud as my main lid color and lightly with MUFE D320 for depth on the outer corner V.
The Bottom Line:
If you haven’t shop for the holidays this year, keep in mind these 3 goodies from Charlotte Tilbury and Nars. As of this writing, Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold is currently out of stock but don’t worry since there will be a possible restock in the next few weeks. Nars Vengeful dual intensity blush is a perfect combo on women of color. Nars Stud can also be used either as a lipstick topper or eyeliner. For those who were curious, I’m wearing Jeffree Star Androgyny with Nars x Steven Klein Stud, Vengeful and Tom Ford Jake and Malik with Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold. Until next time…
