Hello fellow netizens of the world! First of all, thank you so much for the support in keeping this blog alive. You may not leave me a comment in here but I hear everything you wanted me to know on social media. Thank You! Today is all about the holiday collections, very predictable isn’t it. I feature Chanel Tweed Pink Blush Duo and Mac Dita Von Teese. Chanel Tweed Pink already came out a several moons back but missed on it. The texture formula is different from the Chanel Joues Contraste but the effect on the skin is somewhat similar. Mac Dita Von Teese is a orange based matte red, which made me very uncomfortable wearing it since I’ve been using mauves and beiges lips lately.
Chanel Tweed Pink Blush Duo appears as a matte cool light carnation pink with golden shimmer. It lasted for 7 hours of wear but the texture feels very dry. There are signs of crumbling when I sweep my brush across the pan. On my brown skin, it works as a highlighting blush but I’ve only applied 2 layers since overdoing it will make it appear ashy. The pigment is moderately opaque which I didn’t have any issues of showing up, it’s just the dryness of it that made its rating plummet.
Mac Dita Von Teese lipstick is described as a “vivid tomato red.” It appears as a warm bright matte red with strong orange undertones. It lasted for over 6.5 hours and left a stain which pretty much lasted all day. It is a non drying, non hydrating formula. One of the best matte red formulas from Mac. I feel like I look like a “clown” with orange-based reds. I prefer the blue-based ones for my skin tone. Just a preference of mine. It never turns patchy neither does it tug or pull when applied straight from the bullet. It is extremely pigmented even in a single pass.
The Bottom Line:
I’m planning of topping Mac Dita Von Teese with Mac All I Want Lipstick. At least the cool tone of the latter neutralizes the warmth of the former. If you’ve got a fairer skin, Chanel Tweed Pink Blush Duo won’t be a problem in terms of being ashy. If only this product offers better texture, finely milled instead of being dry and chunky. Mac Dita Von Teese is nice to have for the holidays and if you prefer this shade of red, you may wear this year round. I even got a compliment from a co-worker while wearing this shade. I personally prefer the blue-based ones since they complement my skin tone. What’s on your christmas list this year? Until next time…
