Hello fellow netizens of the world! Our internet upstream speed sucks big time for the past 3 days now. I’ve been wanting to post this review since Monday. But the internet won’t let me. Well, thank you internet! Today, it’s a bit better. I did a few hacks to save my life. Now back to makeup. Let me share my thoughts on the new Burberry London with Love Bronzer and Mac So Select lipstick. The bronzer is a limited edition for Spring 2016 while the latter is exclusive to Mac Select members. Mac is channeling an inner Sephora VIB / VIB Rouge. You’ll earn points and redeem for rewards. Burberry will also be launching a blush version of London with Love. Mac So Select looks like Mac Velvet Teddy on the tube with it’s actually mauve when swatched.
Burberry London with Love Bronzer is described as a “limited edition bronzing powder duo for an illuminating, sun-touched complexion with a subtle glow.” It appears as a warm shimmery bronze with strong yellow undertones. It lasted for an average of 8 hours of wear on me. I prefer swirling my blush mixing both the lighter satin yellow beige shade and the shimmery bronze all together. You may wear these separately, but just a preference of mine to mix them up. It is very pigmented and got fairly fine texture. I noticed a little bit of fall outs depending on the type of brush you use. It also feels a little bit dry. The center darker shade offers a better performance than the lighter one surrounding it.
Mac So Select lipstick is characterized as a matte dirty rose. This is only available to all Mac Select members. It’s free to join. It appears as a warm medium pinkish mauve. It lasted for 5.5 hours on me. That’s pretty impressive for a lipstick on this shade. It is fairly opaque and doesn’t pull or tug when applied. It is also a non drying, non hydrating formula. I’m a big fan of the reformulated Mac matte lipsticks. It feels very lightweight too and never feels tacky if I pressed my lips together. It does have the signature vanilla cake batter true to all Mac lipsticks.
The Bottom Line:
Burberry London with Love Bronzer and Mac So Select are worth getting and addition to your makeup hoard. However, there are a lot of cheaper alternatives to the Burberry London with Love. Plenty of dupes from Colourpop which are comparatively in great quality. Mac So Select is my new favorite mauve next to Kat Von D Lolita which I always have in my purse. A girl needs to have a mauve in their purse as backup especially when you go out, fully made up and went to eat lobsters on a butter dip. Dupes for Mac So Select include: Charlotte Tilbury Bond Girl, MUFE N9, LimeCrime Riot, Buxom Dolly, Mac Bad Gal Riri and Mac Velvet Teddy. The only dupe I have for Burberry London with Love Bronzer is ColourPop KaePop Glo Up. Until next time…
