Hello fellow netizens of the world! Wassup y’all? It’s been a few weeks since I’ve last posted on this blog. I took a break from writing but not from getting the newly launched products this spring. We also had a quick vacation in the windy city, Chicago. for today’s post, allow me to share my thoughts regarding: Laura Mercier Addiction Face illuminator, Nars Goulue Blush and Mac Have Your Cake lipstick. I love wearing all three of these together. If you are a sucker for anything fuchsia, well you came into the right place.
Laura Mercier Addiction Face Illuminator is described as a medium highlighter recommended for medium to dark skin tones. It appears over my brown skin as a mid-tone golden beige with warm undertones. It lasted for an average of 8.5 hours of wear. You can build this up, as you please, to give a dramatic glow. But I prefer wearing this subtly for an everyday “work look.” It is very pigmented and but feels slightly dry as I swirl my brush across the pan. I like the design on the pan because it will only allow you to get the right amount of product.
Nars Goulue Blush is a limited edition “Sephora VIB Rouge” exclusive blush. It appears as a satin warm apricot with a sheer golden sheen. It lasted for almost 8 hours of wear. It’s intensely pigmented that I have to lightly sweep my brush across the pan. If your skin is on the fair side, use a fan brush instead of a regular blush brush. I like the this have a sheer sheen to it that you can skip wearing a highlighter on top. The texture also feels slightly dry. It’s one of those warm apricot blush that looks great over brown skin.
Mac Have Your Cake Lipstick is characterized as a bright magenta with a matte finish. It appears as a bright neutral fuchsia with strong purple undertones and a matte finish. It lasted for about 5.5 hours. It applies smoothly without hints of pulling or tugging. I like this new formula for Mac matte lipsticks. They are not as creamy as a semi matte but not as dry as a traditional matte lipstick. I wear this shade more frequently especially during my lazy makeup days. It is a nice lip shade to wear paired with bare lids.
The Bottom Line:
I’m a fan of Laura Mercier’s Indiscretion so I grabbed without any second guesses the new addition to their growing face illuminators. Laura Mercier Addiction, however is very easy to dupe. You most probably already have a dupe or two in your stash. Nars Goulue is a beautiful blush from the brand which outstandingly performs beyond my expectations. Nars blushes can sometimes be a hot or a miss. I no longer get as much products from the brand for every new collection that’s out. Mac Have Your Cake is a great addition to your growing collection: excellent pigment, nice texture and the longevity is commendable. It’s still available online for purchase. It’s limited edition for spring, so better grab it before it’s forever gone. Until next time…
